2022 was a good time to travel internationally again. I crossed to the main-land with the super-fast Euro Tunnel and spent quality time  visiting friends in France, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland & Germany with short stops in Netherlands and Belgium before heading back home. The whole Journey through Europe was magical, but one of the greatest highlights for me was during my visit to Poland, not far from the Ukrainian border where millions of Ukrainians seek refuge from the war.

It is part of The Highland Joker’s goals to blow bubbles for peace, and being not so far off from the Ukrainian border, I took the opportunity, with the help of my Polish friend Antek, to do just so. He helped organize for me to do some bubble shows for free, to Ukrainian children. The morning show was at a local Kindergarten, that harbours many Ukrainian families, while the afternoon show was at a local primary school which was opened specifically for Ukrainians escaping the war.

During the show I shared with them my own experience of war when I was their age, and we shared a heart-felt moment together between the fun bubble tricks in the show. I was very moved and humbled to have this experience and hope it gave those children a few seeds of joy and of hope for the future.
