Jacinda Arden Inside a Bubble

This past year has been exceptionally incredible, from designing a Bubble Weekend and performing in it at a local Museum, to bubbling at hundreds of private and public events, as well as selling our Giant Bubble Wands and Magic Bubble Powder.

Some great moments were, a couple of events with the Rugby union, one of which was organized for the families of The All Blacks and the other was a campaign for mental health awareness where I was filmed for social media, bubbling with the players of the Blues team, which was fantastic. I  also had the honour of meeting Jacinda Arden in an event, during the run up for the New Zealand  elections, and put Jacinda inside a giant bubble. At the time I had no idea she will become the Prime Minister of New Zealand, and I love the photos I have of myself putting her inside a bubble!

I had an idea of building a ‘Bubble Train‘ so I can actually give kids a ride while they are surrounded with soap bubbles! It took me nearly two years to build a trackless train from scratch, with an electric  locomotor, two carriages, a smoke machine in the chimney and all the bells and whistle, as well as a dedicated bubble machine! I used at a school fair which was a real hit, then I took it with me to Rainbow’s End Theme Park as an attraction.

Rainbows End – New Zealand

I started performing regularly during the holidays at Rainbow’s End Theme Park, which is the largest theme park in the country, literally becoming Bubble performer in residence. I was asked to do a shorter version of my show, so I created the 20 minute Bubble show, which is packed with all the Bubble tricks highlights: from the Bubble Volcano, to kids in a bubble, from the caterpillar to the carousel ! I also did outdoor bubble performances at the theme park and performed with a giant mascot called Mo, on the central stage.

Finally I drove The Bubble Express train around the theme park with some of the costumes entertainers waving to the crowds from the train carriages. A great bonus of working there, was being able to bring my kids to enjoy the Park for free! Eventually Rainbow’s End offered to buy the train off me and keep it as a permanent feature at the Park, where it still lives today. These were great times!
