Bubble Project Your Kids Will Surely Love

Kids love bubbles. That’s a fact. That means making bubble art is an excellent idea for activities for kids. If you are running out of ideas of what you can do at home with your little ones so they won’t be glued to their gadgets all day long, you should consider doing this bubble art activity.  The Bubble Man himself recommends this activity, so you can be sure that it’s going to be fun:

Bubble Art Project for Little Kids

This bubble art project can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. But make sure that you choose a design that will be fun and easy for your kids to do.

Supplies That You Need

Concentrated Food Colouring – Use only concentrated food colouring because it delivers brighter neon colours, and regular ones won’t show up on the canvas or paper. White Cardstock or Canvas – It’s up to you to choose what you’re going to use, but canvas tends to look better, and it’s more durable, too.  Tape – if you’re going to use canvas, you need masking tape. If it’s white cardstock, a painter’s tape is needed.

Instructions on How to Make Bubble Art

Here’s the step-by-step instruction on how you can make bubble art. It’s best to master these steps before you start doing it with your kid so you won’t have to refer to the directions as you’re doing the activity:

Step #1: Tape the Paper or Canvas

You need to ensure to press the tape firmly on all sides of the canvas or paper so that the paint won’t leak through. Sometimes even if you do this step, there would still be some leaks, though. The reason you need painter’s tape for paper is so the paper won’t rip when you peel the tape off. Masking tape works best with canvas. The painter’s tape doesn’t stick to the canvas.  You might want to consider making the kid’s initials or play with some geometric shapes.

Step #2: Prepare the Bubble Solution

You are going to need several small bowls for your bubble solution and food colouring mixture. First, pour the bubble solution into the bowls and add one to three drops of concentrated food colouring to the solution. You can reduce or add to the number of drops, depending on the level of vibrancy that you want to achieve.

Step #3: Start Blowing Bubbles Onto the Canvas or Paper

Now for the fun part – tell your child to blow bubbles until the entire canvas or paper is covered with colour! There should be enough bubble prints that the design will be evident when you remove all the tape when you’re done. If you prefer larger bubble shapes, blow close to the paper. You can also blow over the top part and allow the bubbles to float down. When the entire surface is covered, you’ll just have to wait until everything dries.

Step #4: Peel Off the Tape

Finally, when the bubble paint has dried, you can start peeling off the tape. Just be extra careful when you do so, especially if you worked on paper. Now you have your unique bubble painting! You might want to ask your child if they want to frame it or post it on the fridge, too.

Conclusion

Bubble paintings may not be the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of activities involving bubbles, but it’s undoubtedly a fun way to spend time with your kids and to play with bubbles.
